WVM Fellowship
Although we have always encouraged attendees at our prison meetings to seek out a group or church of believers to connect with, we recognise and accept that the majority of participants have difficulty in finding one that they would like to attend on a regular basis. Therefore in order to provide better service to those wishing to take their Christian experience to a more meaningful level, we are currently organising a WVM fellowship based on our unified Christian vision. This may serve a dual role, providing both a supportive environment for those unable to find a suitable church, while also functioning as a faith building supplement for those who already belong to a body of believers.
Enclosed are some related comments received:
“Unfortunately I’ve been transferred to another prison, but as far as the WVM Fellowship is concerned, I think that it is great to unite as believers, and therefore I want to be part of it with all my heart. I confirm my desire to join, and I accept all the criteria. I will be freed on March 17, 2010 and will return to Warsaw to start a new chapter in my life. I will for sure visit the Mission to see you and other brothers and sisters whom I met in the Rakowiecka meetings. Write soon. God bless. Damian”
“I am serving my sentence in a Warsaw prison. Since first meeting you I am happy that God is sending Angels to help people like myself. I used to be blind and deaf as far as people and things around me was concerned, but now things have changed, and I wonder: will I be able to make it up to those I hurt, and will God forgive me for all the harm I have done? I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. As a young man I gave in to temptations that eventually landed me in prison. I’m now studying for my high school diploma and learning to be a plumber. I’m glad to be building, rather than tearing down. In 6 months I will be released. Will you be able to provide me with spiritual support, and help me not to go astray again? I would also like to be able to help people and to share God’s Word with those who need it. I hope you will accept my application to join the fellowship and correspond with me. I feel better writing my feelings since I do not have enough courage to talk in big groups. I am looking forward to your reply. Thank you and God bless. Mirek”
“
Thank you so much for your letter which was a consolation and gave me strength. I’m learning that I can admit to my mistakes or faults. I’ve struggled to forgive someone who wronged me, and your letter helped me to let go of the bitterness. Dear Friend, I confirm that I took Jesus into my heart as my Savior. I want to find out more about becoming a fellowship member. If possible I would like to become a volunteer and give my testimony about what Jesus is doing in my life. I do want to stay in touch with other brothers and sisters through meetings and correspondence. I pray for you all. Go with God. Zygmunt”
