"Adopt a Family Program"- a winning way to expand our impact to many in need!
With over 20 poor families with very tough circumstances waiting to join our “Families in Crisis” project and our limited resources overstretched, we are planning to launch a new initiative, the “Adopt A Family Program.” One such case history is highlighted below, along with concrete steps to how together we may impact their difficult situation:
Katarzyna, Slawek and kids were given the use of an uninsured house by a relative, but due to a faulty furnace it caught fire and was badly burned. It was a very traumatic experience where little Natalia was only saved thanks to the bravery of her sister Iza and a neighbour. Everything was basically destroyed, and now they have started the long process of collecting needed items and renovating every inch and aspect of the house. We have been able to provide them with some basic furniture etc. but much more help is needed!
Katarzyna, Slawek and children are one of the many families hoping to be enrolled in WVM’s regular support project. Thanks to the help of dear friends and supporters, thus far WVM has helped over a hundred “Families in Crisis.” We’re glad to report that more than two thirds of them are already graduated from the program, and at present we have 35 active ones, besides the 20 more candidates who are waiting and hoping to join.
Therefore we are looking to build our support base in order to facilitate this. For every PLN 200 pledged each month to the mission, we will bring another family into our care network. This is our approximate monthly running cost for providing the material as well as emotional support and care required for each added family. We are looking for individuals, families, or small groups who would like to commit monthly support throughout the rest of 2011. Beyond that of course, annual extensions would be welcomed for those who would like to continue. The donations could be given monthly, quarterly, or annually. For those who would prefer to commit PLN 100 monthly, we could also team them up with another giver, and they could jointly sponsor the addition of a new family. Would either of these options be feasible for you and your loved ones?
